Azealia Banks has never shied away from using her voice both on the mic and off. The rapper voicing her gripes with fellow artists as well as big issues going on in America on the daily. Over the past few years, she's been known for frequent Twitter rants aimed at everyone from Rihanna to Iggy Azalea. But even though she’s outspoken in cyber world, Banks brings that same tenacity to her music.

When the Harlem, N.Y. rhymer first stepped on the scene in 2008, it was her Euro-pop-laced rhymes and speedy flow that caught the attention of Diplo and XL Recordings, to name a few. Her acting background (Banks attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, the same school as Nicki Minaj) added to her persona as many of her tracks were just as animated as her aesthetic. Back then, she went by Mi$$ Banks and just getting her feet wet in the music business. Her debut album Broke With Expensive Taste was still just a dream.

After her developmental deal with XL Recordings went sour, Banks continued to learn and teach herself, using YouTube as her vehicle to get her music out to the world. She was on track to finally scoring a major label deal standing out in the business, with tracks that spoke to the everyday “it girl” driven by her dance-centric tracks. Earlier songs like “L8R” and “Slow Hands (Interpol Cover)” were the foundation of what Banks had in store for fans. By the time her debut single “212” dropped, Banks’ name was buzzing from New York City to Europe.

Over the course of 10 years, the rapper has dropped a series of songs from two albums and several mixtapes. Her style is a combination of hardcore ice princess meets pop diva disco queen. While she remains unsigned, there is something to be said about her contributions to the music game. Get ready to bop and move as you check out 20 Best Azealia Banks Songs.
