Beanie Sigel Still Sedated Following Shooting, Police Take Man In For Questioning
Update (Dec. 10, 10:14 a.m.) According to Philly.com, Beanie Sigel is currently in critical but stable condition. Lt. Danny Adcock sent in a statement to Philly.com stating, "he may have become involved in something that was not necessarily his own doing." Adcock adds, "just wrong place, wrong time."
Sigel’s brother-in-law, 22 year-old Umar Salahuddin, was also at the scene of the shooting with his own minor injuries. However, according to the report, he hasn't been cooperating with the police investigation. Police say they're no suspects right now but they "do have some leads we're following up on." Adcock continued on to say, "cooperation from the family is minimal." The gunshots were fired during a fight near the property. The home belonged to Salahuddin.
Update (Dec. 7, 2:14 pm) NBC Philadelphia is reporting Beanie Sigel is still sedated and unable to talk following surgery yesterday (Dec. 6). The former Roc-A-Fella rapper remains in critical condition after being shot on Friday (Dec. 5) outside his New Jersey home.
Police also believe they have located a car that is connected to the shooting. A grey car covered in bullet holes has been located a couple of blocks from the scene. Two men in the vehicle tried to flee. One was apprehended and taken in for questioning.
Update (Dec. 5, 6:55 pm.): According to the AP, Sigel has awaken afternoon surgery.
"Authorities and Sigel's lawyer initially called the wound life-threatening, but hospital officials told police that the 40-year-old rapper was awake Friday afternoon after surgery, Pleasantville police Chief Jose Ruiz told The Associated Press. Investigators were on their way to try to interview him, he said."

Update (Dec. 5, 4:13 pm.): Press of Atlantic City, Sigel was shot in the torso and suffered "life-threatening" injuries, said Police Chief Jose Ruiz. Sigel was transported to the Trauma Unit at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center and rushed into surgery. The home Sigel was shot at was a relative of Sigel's wife, Michele Salahuddin. Also hurt was Sigel's brother-in-law, Umar Salahuddin but he was not shot.
Update (Dec. 5, 3:13 p.m.): NBC Philadelphia is reporting that Sigel is in critical condition. He was taken to the hospital after being shot. The report also states that Sigel wasn't the intended victim, according to his attorney.
Original Story: NBC Philadelphia has reported that Beanie Sigel was shot this morning during an altercation in the Jersey Shore town of Pleasantville, N.J. According to the report, Beanie Sigel was shot around 9:45 this morning along the 800 block of Spruce Avenue in Pleasantville. Sigel has been taken to a local hospital, and is currently in surgery.
Sigel was released from federal prison in August after serving a 2 year sentence for tax evasion, and was wearing a monitoring bracelet on his ankle at the time of the shooting, according to the report.
