It looks like Andre 3000's recent focus on acting has reignited his passion for music. The legendary rapper spoke to Billboard while promoting his role in the ABC drama American Crime and expressed his desire to release some new music.

The OutKast member was asked if he'd been working on any music as of late. And in an answer that's sure to excite fans, 3 Stacks said his time in acting had him "fiending" to do music again.

"I still get time to think about music," Andre said. "[Shooting TV and film projects] is not so bad -- it kind of puts you in the place where you’re fiending to do music. I’ve been holding [back] for a long time, so now I’m really interested in figuring out some type of music to do. I’m always recording."

When asked about any specifics, Andre kept quiet. He doesn't want to add to any hype by making something about the new music public just yet.

"I can’t say that I have a target right now," Andre said. "I’ve gotten in trouble before for saying when or what is coming, so I like to just kind of let it be. I’d like to put out some kind of music project, but we’ll see."

If fans are trying to gauge what direction the Atlanta rapper is going in with his new music, perhaps his listening habits could give them a good idea.

"I always listen to a lot of jazz, a lot of Thelonius Monk," Andre said. "The new Kid Cudi album [Speedin’ Bullet 2 Heaven] is awesome to me. That’s kind of like the most recent thing that I think is really great. But other than that I’ve kind of just been working in the studio and listening to what I’m doing."
