Andre 3000 Digs in a Space Garden in ‘High Life’ Movie Trailer
There may not be a new project from André 3000 coming anytime soon, but at least he’s not giving up his natural knack for acting. Last year, news broke that one-half of OutKast signed on to star in revered French director Claire Denis’ sci-fi flick High Life with Twilight actor Robert Pattinson. On Friday (Oct. 12), the official trailer dropped, and it’s full of creepy vibes.
Forty-three-year-old Three Stacks plays Tcherny, who goes on an intergalactic trip to the black hole in space with Monte (Pattinson) and a band of other inmates played by Mia Goth, Lars Eidinger, Ewan Mitchell, Agata Buzek, Jessie Ross and Claire Tran. Dr. Dibs, played by actress Juliette Binoche, leads the odd venture as they endure one hell of a ride that results in bloodshed.
In the trailer, André 3000, dressed in a maroon ’fit, appears in a space garden, digging in the dirt between the foliage surrounding him as Robert Pattinson's character narrates the scene. However, the trailer doesn’t give away too much details about the plot, but it does reveal the film’s most twisted scenes.
High Life is set to be released on Nov. 7 in France and stateside in 2019.
Since making his film debut in Be Cool back in 2005, Three Stacks, born André Benjamin, has taken on a slew of roles but none of them can compare to how bone-chilling the Idlewild actor’s latest role will be. Although his focus is more on film and fashion these days, André dropped two new songs, “Me&My (To Bury Your Parents)” and “Look Ma No Hands,” earlier this year in May. While the latter was a 17-minute instrumental, “Me&My (To Bury Your Parents)” serves as an ode to the rapper's late parents while he takes a trip back to his best times with them.
