Wale Drops “My PYT,” First Single Off ‘SHINE’
Wale has had his share of female-focused records with "Bad" and "Lotus Flower Bomb," and comes through today (May 20) with another addition in the form of "My PYT." The D.C. rapper first debuted the song at South by Southwest in March, but delivers the official Sam Sneak featured audio.
On the track, which was produced by The Dope Boyz, Wale mixes the romantic with the physical, rapping, "Give her 50 feet / Fell in love in a week / She penetratin’ my mind, I penetrate that physique / Bitches I would delete / Diggin' our chemistry / No limit to me and she / Come give me kiss on the cheek." The song is the first single off Wale's fifth studio album SHINE, which is an acronym for Still Here Ignoring Negative Energy. He last dropped The Album About Nothing in March of last year.
Less than a month ago, Wale previewed some new music from the studio that sounded like it was Metro Boomin produced. SHINE is expected to drop this fall, with MMG's Self Made 4 set to drop this year as well. Listen to "My PYT" up above or cop the song via iTunes. Wale's appreciation for the original Michael Jackson cut was solidified when he performed a karaoke version in 2009.
This summer, Wale will join J. Cole, Fetty Wap, Rae Sremmurd and more at the Billboard Hot 100 Festival going down in New York on August 20 and 21. Tickets go on sale to the general public this Saturday, May 21 at 10 A.M. EST.
