Video Premiere: Krizz Kaliko, Futuristic, Black Pegasus, and Jeff Turner [TeamBackpack Cypher]

Two weeks ago, Tech N9ne made a stop in Santa Cruz for his “Independent Powerhouse” Tour. Selecting a few of his Strange Music family to go on the road with him, Tech brought the house down at The Catalyst. He’s been known as a dynamic performer and got the crowd rapping in unison.

Sometime before the show, the folks at TeamBackpack gathered a few rising MCs in the Bay for a cypher. Here, Kaliko, Futuristic, Black Pegasus and Jeff Turner all bring their unique styles for their freestyles, which were done in one take. Considering some of these guys are relatively new, it’s a foolproof showcase of their talents.

Kaliko is prepping his new studio album, Son of Sam, due out in July, while the rest plan on dropping new material coming soon.
