Trey Songz’s ‘Trigga’ Falls To No. 9 In This Week’s Album Sales (7/23/14)

This is the week a parody album is doing better than hip-hop albums. Weird Al Yankovic's Mandatory Fun, which has parodies of "Fancy" and "Happy," tops the charts (for the first time in his career) with 104,000 units pushed. This week's chart also delivers the answer to why they're still making Kidz Bop and Now albums. They come in at No. 4 (45,278) and No. 8 (23,187), respectively. So yes, people still do buy those albums.

But how is hip-hop and R&B doing? Not great; most of the releases dropped lower in the charts. Trey Songz's Trigga dropped 35 percent in sales, but it's still sitting tight in the Top 10 with 21,853 copies sold. Iggy Azalea loses three spots and sits at No. 20 with 13,000 copies pushed.

Michael Jackson's Xscape took a noticeable 25 percent drop to land back at No. 30 with 9,840 units sold. That's no where near the decrease Sia's 1,000 Forms of Fear experienced. Last week's No. 1 saw its sales fall a whopping 75 percent to finish at No. 19, according to Hits Daily Double.

August Alsina's Testimony, G-Eazy's These Things Happen and Mike Stud's Closer all fell out of the Top 50.
