Slaughterhouse's own Crooked I recently stopped by Sway In The Morning to announce a project he's working on. Along with Mike Smith of SMH Records and DJ King Tech, Crooked I and Sway have joined forces to create One Shot, a competition series where aspiring MC's compete for $100,000 cash prize, a record deal with SMH Records and the title of hip-hop's next up and coming star.

“This is strictly for Hip-Hop,” said Crooked I in his interview with Sway. “This right here is to provide a platform for Hip-Hop, for us. If you’re an up and coming artist, I had the same struggle. I had the same everything you got. I’m just like you. This is for us. Strictly Hip Hop.”

Crooked I, DJ King Tech and Mike Smith will hold auditions in Charlotte, Atlanta, Miami, New York, Chicago, Houston, San Francisco, and Los Angeles to find their contestants for the show. Celebrity panelists will be featured in each city to act as a respected judge in the deliberation process. Four rappers will be chosen from each city to perform in a major showcase to prove if they deserve one shot, ultimately leading them to a final showcase hosted by Sway in Las Vegas .

“I believe in tomorrow’s rap stars,” says Crooked I. “I believe in giving them a bigger platform to be heard. I believe that I could help somebody get one shot because that’s all I ever wanted.”
