After announcing a joint project was done about six weeks ago, Big Boi and Phantogram drop their seven-track EP Big Grams. Featuring appearances from Skrillex and Run the Jewels, Big Grams is a genre bending release that should attract listeners from all walks of life.

Big Boi spoke to Pitchfork about the project and how it came together after he stumbled across them while perusing the internet. “I stumbled upon Phantogram through a pop-up ad on my computer,” said Daddy Fat Sax. “I was closing out screens and then a pop-up ad came up and it had their song ‘Mouthful of Diamonds’ on it. I Shazamed it and bought it on iTunes and ended up putting it on my BigBoi.com website as the jam of the week. I guess they caught wind of it and reached out to me.” We spoke to Josh Carter of Phantogram about how they met Big Boi and what can fans expect from Big Grams. Check out the project below:

Big Boi and Phantogram debuted as a live entity at this year’s Epic Fest in August. Performing three songs together, which will presumably be on the Big Grams EP, the trio finally came through with music that they had been rumored to be working on for over a year. Be sure to check out Big Grams when it drops in a few weeks!
