Young Jeezy’s longtime producer Shawty Redd was arrested and charged with murder last Friday (January 1) according to the Associated Press.

The 28-year-old beatmaker, born Demetrius Lee Stewart, is being accused of shooting Damon A. Martin, 35, during an argument in his house just outside of Atlanta. As of press time Redd’s relationship to the man is unknown.

The ATLien is currently being held without bond in the Henry County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court on January 12.

Shawty is known for his signature dark production work throughout Jeezy’s three solo albums, including such standout songs as "Thug Motivation 101," "Trap or Die" and "Who Dat," but his biggest hit to date is Snoop Dogg's laid back slow jam, “Sensual Eruption," which was nominated for two Grammy awards in 2008. Most recently he collaborated with Jeezy’s former enemy Gucci Mane on his major label debut, The State Vs Radric Davis.
