Before the 2019 XXL Freshman class will be revealed this summer, the Freshman hopefuls are here to show and prove why they deserve a spot in this year’s class. The 10th Spot voting will launch on March 25, which means hip-hop's rising newcomers are vying for a spot on the 2019 XXL Freshman cover.

Armed with electric charisma and a distinctively punk-infused audio aesthetic, Rico Nasty has sugar, spice and all the other makings of a rap superstar. After breaking out with her Sugar Trap mixtape in 2016 and following up with Tales of Tacobella and Sugar Trap 2 in 2017, Rico reached a new level of fame with 2018's Nasty. The project—with its blend of melodies, Kenny Beats production and Rico's in-your-face personality—helped solidify the 21-year-old, Prince George County, Md.-bred rapper as one of the year's biggest breakout stars ("Smack a Bitch," with its 10 million-plus play count on Spotify, has quickly become an anthem). Now, the Atlantic Records signee is looking to take things to the next level.

Now that you've heard her pitch, remember to vote for your favorite artist beginning March 25. The 2019 XXL Freshman 10th Spot will run for one week. This is where the public gets the chance to vote an artist into the XXL Freshman Class. Go here to make your vote count for your favorite artist.
