Adult Swim will air a musical special of the popular show Black Dynamite that will feature voice overs from Tyler, The Creator and Erykah Badu. The hour-long episode titled "The Wizard of Watts" will focus on police brutality and will also feature Tim Blake Nelson and J.B. Smoove. The special follows '70s-themed crime fighting character Black Dynamite who is hit in the head with a brick during a riot and dreams that he is in the Magical Land of Oz-Watts, where he is tasked with defending the community from the police. The episode's theme comes at a time of high tensions on the topic of police and citizen relations. Just last week, thousands of people marched the streets of New York and D.C. against police brutality. “As a comedy writer, I feel it’s my job to make people laugh while using constructive social criticism to evoke thought and inspire dialogue,” said the episode's writer Carl Jones about the timing of the speacial.

Black Dynamite will air on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim on January 10 at 10:30 pm EST.
