Fresh off the release of his fifth studio album Swimming, Mac Miller made his Tiny Desk debut on the NPR concert series. Backed by a live band that included a piano player, drummer, bassist and guitarist, the Pittsburgh MC performed songs from his new project for the first time in front of an audience.

Miller kicked off his set with smooth, jazzy rendition of one of Swimming's first singles, "Small Worlds." Following that performance,  Mac was joined by bassist Thundercat for "What's the Use?" Miller then brought out a string quartet to help him finish his set with a performance of "2009."

Up next for Miller, the rhymer will embark on The Swimming Tour in October. Kicking off on Oct. 27 in San Francisco, Mac will make stops in Los Angeles, Houston, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Boston, New York, Detroit, Chicago and more, before wrapping up on Dec. 10 in Vancouver, British Columbia. The rapper will also be joined by Thundercat and 2018 XXL Freshman J.I.D on the trek.

The 13-track album Swimming, which was released on Aug. 3, taps some of hip-hop's biggest producers. Beatmakers Nostxglic, ID Labs, DJ Dahi, Carter Lang, Tae Beast and more all contributed to the album's beats.
