lil-wayne1.jpgAs previously reported on XXLMag.com, Lil Wayne was arrested in Boise, Idaho on October 5 on an outstanding felony warrant issued by the state of Georgia for a year old drug possession charge. The warrant was issued after Weezy missed two scheduled court dates. But according to Wayne’s attorney, William Head, the situation was a misunderstanding, as the rapper never received any notices he was supposed to appear in court. According to CBS 46 News in Atlanta, Wayne finally appeared in a Fulton County courtroom yesterday (October 11) and was charged with drug possession after his original arrest in August 2006 at the Twelve Hotel in Atlanta, Ga. “They found two small burnt roaches in the garbage can and they found some prescription medication in another person’s name in prescription bottles,” said Wayne’s attorney, William Head. While Weezy quickly posted bond after his arrest, Head says his client was informed that his case was dismissed. Apparently that wasn’t the case, and when the state tried to send Wayne notices to appear back in court, they sent it to the wrong address. “All they did was take his address of his driver’s license,” Head says. “Well, what happened is when Katrina hit, he lost his home.” Head was also displeased with the mix-up since Wayne’s arrest forced him to miss a concert. “That’s about a $500,000 error that was caused by this glitch right there,” Head told CBS 46 News. “He had no knowledge of it. He’s never missed a concert. I couldn’t imagine missing a court date. I’m just not that kind of person.”
