Kodie Shane Gets Tropical in “Level Up” Video

The first lady of Lil Yachty's Sailing Team knows how to make an impression and proves it in the video for her infectious new song "Level Up." Kodie Shane is back with bright and fun visuals for the track, off her recently released EP Back From the Feature. 

"Level Up" is a light and breezy affair. "Got a brand new bitch had to level up, had to drop my old whip had to level up," sings Kodie as she dances and struts in a tropical paradise. She's all smiles and swag as she tells a potential suitor, "Swag ain't free, baby."

In January, Kodie described her musical style to XXL. “People compare me to like Lil Uzi, but I don’t think that’s a good comparison," said Shane. "I feel like you only heard one of my records and really depending off of one song. I would describe my sound as new and fresh and nothing else like it. I just have this energy that not a lot of people have. I can light up a whole room. I’m not trying to be cocky but this is what I’ve been told. People say that my energy is electric.”

Back From the Future features some of Shane's tightest and most focused songwriting to date. She completely demolishes braggadocios songs like "Indecisive" and the sugar pop ode "You Should Know." She has a knack for letting her voice float over beats as she weaves in and out of singing and rapping.
