Jay Critch Recalls Legendary Moment He Got Props From Jadakiss
DJ Whoo Kid is back for XXL's Whoolywood Shuffle podcast, and, as is always the case, he's brought a few industry friends with him. Generally, the podcast draws from all areas of the entertainment world for its guests. This week, Whoo Kid put on for the home team.
The latest edition of the Whoolywood Shuffle includes appearances from YBN Nahmir, Rich The Kid and his Rich Forever Music artist Jay Critch. With two out of the three of these rappers being flat-out rap game newbies, and the other being a young label boss, there was a lot to talk about.
During a conversation that lasts about 45 minutes, the three rappers discuss some of the pivotal moments behind some of their best work. For his part, Nahmir recalls the moment he realized his Cole Bennett-directed "Bounce Out With That" video was about to explode in popularity. For Rich The Kid, it's a text from Lil Wayne.
The most interesting part of the podcast, though, might be a shout-out Critch got from Jadakiss. Speaking on an occasion he visited XXL's Manhattan office, the 21-year-old lyricist remembers the support he received from the Yonkers legend.
"When I went up to XXL they posted me [onto Instagram] and asked, 'Do y'all think Jay Critch should be on XXL [2018 Freshman Cover], and Jadakiss commented like, 'Yes,' with the flex emoji. And I'm like, 'Oh shit, that's Kiss.' That shit was crazy. That shit was legendary. Shout-out to Jadakiss, a hundred big bro. You know how we coming the New York way."
Check out what everyone's got to say by listening to this week's edition of XXL's Whoolywood Shuffle podcast below. Nahmir goes first, Critch is second, and last, but never least, is Rich The Kid. Critch's bit about Jada comes in at around the 20:30 mark.
