A History Of Jay Z Vs. Drake

Drake and Jay Z's rivalry is a must-watch battle right now. The big brother vs. little brother feud can probably be traced all the way back to Drake's attention-grabbing line on "I'm On One" where he raps, "I’m just feeling like the throne is for the taking, watch me take it!" during Jay Z and Kanye West's Watch The Throne album run.

What ignited the feud between Jay Z and Drake is without a doubt Drizzy's Rolling Stone feature in which he comments on Hov's love for fine art. "It's like Hov can't drop bars these days without at least four art references!" says Drizzy. "I would love to collect at some point, but I think the whole rap/art world thing is getting kind of corny."

Jay Z responded on Jay Electronica's remix of "We Made It" rapping, "Sorry, Mr. (or Mrs.) Drizzy, for so much art talk/Silly me rappin' 'bout shit that I really bought."

Drake responded back with a quick jab on "Draft Day," rapping, "just hits, no misses, that’s for the married folk."

Faith would put Jay Z's hometown team the Brooklyn Nets facing Drake's Toronto Raptors in the first round of the NBA playoffs.

During game one of the series between the Nets and the Raptors, Drake, who is the Global Ambassador for the Raptors, stuck a jab at Jay Z once again, saying Hov was "somewhere eating a fondue plate."

Jay had the last laugh on DJ Khaled’s "They Don't Love You No More" single, calling Drake as "soft as a lacrosse team." 

Plus the practical joke on Drake during game 6 at the Barclays Center, which Jay Z, Beyonce and Drake attended.

Is this a bonafide beef? Not yet. The two are just super competitive, and Drake isn't afraid to voice his opinion against anyone, even against the untouchable Jay Z. Let's see who takes the next swing.
