Today, Nov. 9., marks the 27th birthday of rapper Hodgy! The former Odd Future member hails from New Jersey, but moved to California before hitting his teens. It was there he met Tyler, The Creator, Left Brain, Casey Veggies and other members of the crew, going on to release collaborative projects with them as a whole.

After some time, Hodgy formed sub-groups with Left Brain and and Domo Genesis while working on his solo projects. His Untitled EP and Dukkha mixtape are standouts, and proved Hodgy has no problem holding his own on wax. In 2013, MellowHigh—composed of Hodgy, Left Brain and Domo Genesis—dropped their self-titled debut project, which peaked at No. 89 on the Billboard Top 200 chart.

For the last few years, Hodgy was an active member in Odd Future until they disbanded over two years ago. In 2016, before the year came to a close, Hodgy finally dropped his debut solo LP, Fireplace: TheNotTheOtherSide. Though no one from Golfwang appears on the album, Hodgy managed to get features from big time hip-hop artists such as Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes.

In recent weeks, Hodgy dropped a video for "I'll Be Good," which he says was created two years ago. A few days later, he was spotted performing at Tyler's annual Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival with Domo Genesis and Grady Lee.

Happy Birthday, Hodgy!
