Before the 2019 XXL Freshman cCass will be revealed this summer, the Freshman hopefuls are here to show and prove why they deserve a spot in this year’s class. The 10th spot voting will launch on March 25, which means hip-hop's rising newcomers are vying for a spot on the 2019 XXL Freshman cover.

From Brooklyn to the Billboard charts, Flipp Dinero’s melodic flow was inescapable over the course of the last year due to his monster hit, “Leave Me Alone.” The song peaked at No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 in early 2019. Now a Drake-approved, platinum anthem, which reached over 100 million views on YouTube, the track first went viral after former New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham uploaded a video to Instagram of himself dancing along to the song.

Prior to scoring the biggest hit of his young career, the GuaLa See GuaLa artist locked in key cosigns from industry power players like Joey Bada$$, Cinematic Music Group’s Jonny Shipes and Young Sav, which later resulted in a record deal with DJ Khaled’s We The Best imprint. Also responsible for bangers like the Jay Critch-featured “Wanna Ball” and “Time Goes Down,” the 23-year-old rapper with 7 million monthly listeners on Spotify and collaborations with T-Pain and $quidnice, is proving that he’s more than a one-hit wonder.
