Actor-comedian-writer-director Jordan Peele has turned Luniz's most memorable song about weed into a chilling theme in the trailer for Us, which is a horror movie set to come out this coming February.

On Christmas Day (Dec. 25), Get Out director Jordan Peele dropped the trailer for his next thriller Us, which is scored with the creepiest remix of Luniz's classic "I Got 5 On It." The film stars Lupita Nyong'o and Winston Duke as Adelaide Wilson and Gabe Wilson, two members of a loving family with two kids who are ambushed by their diabolical doppelgängers. The two previously acted alongside each other in Marvel Studios' Black Panther as Nakia and M'Baku, respectively.

Transforming a timeless weed smoker's anthem into a chilling horror theme is not small task, and fans have thus far made known just how impressed they are with the flip.

"Making "I Got 5 on It" into one of the tensest songs I've ever heard is talent," wrote one Twitter user. "Jordan Peele bout to make a whole generation of kids terrified of I Got 5 On It," tweeted another.

While no one would have seen this flip coming, it was a natural decision for Peele, who broke into the realm of national stardom for his part in writing in and starring in the sketch comedy series Key & Peele.

"That song, it came pretty simple," Peele told Entertainment Weekly. "I’m making a movie in Northern California, that’s a bay area hip-hop classic and I wanted to explore this very relatable journey of being a parent [and] maybe some of the songs you listened to back in the day aren’t appropriate for your kids."

Throughout the trailer for horror film, Yukmouth and Numskull's 1995 single off their debut album Operation Stackola echoes from the seemingly relaxing introductory scene of a family trip to the beach to the terrifying climax when the family clashes with their evil twins.

"I love songs that have a great feeling but also have a haunting element to them and I feel like the beat in that song has this inherent cryptic energy, almost reminiscent of the Nightmare on Elm Street soundtrack," Peele continued. "So those were the ideas that that song hit the bullseye on for me, and also, it’s just a dope track.”

Despite being shook to say the least, fans reveled in Bay area nostalgia after hearing the Oakland, Calif. duo's banger in the film. Watch the trailer for Us and check out fan reactions below.
