The 2016 XXL Freshman class has been revealed and whether you love it or hate, you're still talking about this year's rising stars. Last month (June 13), XXL announced the new class, which includes Oxnard, Calif.'s Anderson .Paak; Atlanta's 21 Savage; Pompano Beach, Florida's Kodak Black; Philadelphia's Lil Uzi Vert; Cheltenham Township, Pa.'s Lil Dicky; Harlem's Dave East; Carol City, Fla.'s Denzel Curry; Brooklyn's Desiigner; Chicago's G Herbo and our fan-voted 10th Spot winner, ATL's Lil Yachty.

Powered by Trojan Magnum Condoms, the 2016 XXL Freshman class features a unique set of artists that have demonstrated their skills in freestyles and cyphers and showcased their personalities in solo interviews. Now it's time for the group interviews. First up, it's Desiigner, G.O.O.D. Music's newest signee with a viral first single, Anderson .Paak, the soulful Cali crooner who scored a Dr. Dre mentorship and Lil Dicky, the comedic rap nerd and one of the most unlikely MCs out right now.

XXL's Editor-in-Chief Vanessa Satten sat down with the guys after they spit their bars in their cypher to have the three very different artists discuss what being part of the 2016 XXL Freshman class means to them.

"It's definitely a real hip-hop institution, the Freshmen cover. It's so cool," said Dicky. "Every year, you look at it and it sends the status for hip-hop every year so it's an honor to be a part of it... For me, a lot of what I do is comedy based, it's a legitimizer I'd say. A legit stamp."

"A legit stamp, a legitimizer on the hip-hop resume. You got some stripes," said .Paak, echoing Dicky's sentiments. "The real thing will be the time after this, you know? We goin' see. The proof will be in the pudding, you know? But it's crazy to see the pictures out there of the people that really did it and made an impact in the game. That's what I'm pushing for. But it's really dope to be at this level now of recognition."

"XXL, they call me a Freshmen, but I'm a pro. So, this a platform to let people know I'm out here." Desiigner said of getting that official XXL cosign this early in his career.
