Fans at this year's Ill Points Music Festival got an unexpected treat during Flying Lotus' set. Denzel Curry, who had performed earlier in the festival, was brought back out on stage to freestyle with the backing of FlyLo. As you can see and hear in the above video, Curry went in for nearly three minutes.

Curry is set for bigger and better things as he just inked a new distribution deal. The Florida native opted to avoid the majors and signed with independent label Loma Vista Records. Curry said he will maintain full creative control and own the master recordings of his music in this deal.

The "Threatz" rapper is taking full advantage of the increased recognition he earned from being in the 2016 XXL Freshman class. Curry made it clear he would during an interview at the cover shoot.

"It’s a blessing to be here and I’m going to appreciate this whole thing,” he told XXL. “Even when I get older, I’m going to appreciate this moment because I know there’s people that get on this cover and then you don’t hear from them for years. But you’re going to hear me for years! Years to come. I’m not goin’ flop, I’m not goin’ fail… to get this opportunity to be here is a blessing. So, I’m finna take full advantage of that and when I leave out of here, I’m finna go harder so you can keep that mental note that I’m going be somebody or be bigger than what I am right now."

Curry will head back on the road in a few weeks to finish out his Black Metal Terrorist Tour. Fans can catch him performing on Nov. 4 in Austin before he wraps things up in Nashville on Nov. 22.
