D'Angelo and the Vanguard will be hitting the road this June for The Second Coming Tour in support of their 2014 Black Messiah album. The tour kicks off June 7 at the Fox Theater in Oakland and wraps up June 28 at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, N.J. Tickets for the 14-date hike go on sale May 1 at 10 a.m.

Artists from the Vanguard who will hit the road include the Who bassist Pino Palladino, guitarists Jesse johnson and Isaiah Sharkey, drummer Chris "Daddy" Dave, keyboardist Cleo "Pookie" Sample and vocalists Kendra Foster, Charlie "Red" Middleton and Jermain Holmes.

Black Messiah is the first studio album we've heard from the R&B singer in 15 years. Back in February, he celebrated his return by performing for a packed house at the Apollo Theater, including a 14-minute rendition of his classic, "Untitled (How Does It Feel)."
