Comethazine’s Pitch for 2019 XXL Freshman
Before the 2019 XXL Freshman Class will be revealed this summer, the Freshman hopefuls are here to show and prove why they deserve a spot in this year’s class. The 10th Spot voting will launch on March 25, which means hip-hop's rising newcomers are vying for a spot on the 2019 XXL Freshman cover.
Riding the momentum of two successful mixtapes and a string of memorable videos, East St. Louis, Ill.'s Comethazine quickly established himself as a torch-bearer in a lengthy line of SoundCloud rap stars. After dropping a series of loosies from 2015 and on, Comethazine began picking up steam after signing with Alamo Records in October 2017.
Just a bit more than a year later, he dropped off his Bawskee mixtape, a debut project filled with hyperactively violent anthems and memorable tracks like "Walk," the video for which has been viewed over 28 million times on YouTube.
Not content to rest on his musical laurels, Co kept the heat coming when he unloaded Bawskee 2 this past January. Doubling down on the obscene vibes of his debut tape, the 20-year-old rapper officially smashed any doubts that he'd be around for some time yet. With a malleable style, a memorable persona and a strong team behind him, Comethazine is set to continue making waves throughout the rest of 2019 and beyond.
Now that you've heard his pitch, remember to vote for your favorite artist beginning March 25. The 2019 XXL Freshman 10th Spot will run for one week. This is where the public gets the chance to vote an artist into the XXL Freshman Class. Go here to make your vote count for your favorite artist.
