The end of Derek Jeter’s career will be coming to end this Sunday, but tonight the captain of the Yankees squad will say farewell to his hometown fans as Jeter plays his final game at the Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.
Jeter who is playing in his 20th and final season in the MLB is regarded as one of the best baseball players to ever play the game. A 14-time All-Star and 5-time World Series champ, Jeter has represented the game in the utmost manner, and has been a key figure in the growth of the Jordan Brand for several years.
Jeter became the first Jordan Brand-endorsed baseball player in 1999, and has 12 signature cleats since his time with the brand. He's also known as one of the first athletes to ever rock a Player Exclusive silhouette on the field. In his time with the Yankees, Jeter sported special PE cleats that took after some of Jordan's most classic retros such as the Air Jordan 7, Air Jordan 9 and Air Jordan 11. The captain of the Yanks even had an emotional tribute video made for him titled #RE2PECT from the Jordan Brand, which had baseball players and celebrities tipping their caps to the all-time great.
