03 Greedo's lengthy prison sentence has officially begun with the "Never Bend" rapper turning himself over to authorities late last week on Thursday (June 28).

The #FreeGreedo movement, however, kicked off with a rocky start after the Watts, Calif. product reportedly failed to appear in court on Wednesday (June 27) due to a missed flight, TMZ reports. Greedo will be serving up to 20 years, with the chance of parole, at the Potter County Detention Center in Amarillo, Texas. As previously reported, the rapper's troubling past caught up with him earlier this year after being hit with gun and drug trafficking charges from a 2016 arrest.

Nonetheless, Greedo's jail stint hasn't delayed the artist from focusing on his future. Ahead of turning himself over to authorities, the rapper dropped off his newest effort God Level. The 27-track project finds Greedo candidly rapping about his beloved city of Los Angeles as he rattles rhymes over off-kilter melodies. Serving as his fourth album, God Level features a rolodex of hitmakers including Rich The Kid, Lil Uzi Vert, KEY! and Yhung T.O. of supergroup SOBxRBE.

His musical styling aside, Greedo also recently proposed to his longtime girlfriend during his final show in his native Los Angeles early last week. The Wolf of Grape Street rapper appeared to be in good spirits as he thoroughly documented the night's festivities, in which he gave thanks for his friends and family as well.
