03 Greedo has been making a name for himself as an artist to look out for on the West Coast, but his hustle to get his music heard will be put on hold. The rapper shocked fans last week when he announced that he may be going to prison. Now, it appears he could face 20 years in jail.

According to a report from journalist Jeff WeissThe Wolf of Grape Street rapper may be facing up to two decades in prison, stemming from an arrest in 2016. Two years ago, Greedo and a friend were pulled over near Amarillo, Texas and were discovered to be riding with four pounds of methamphetamine and two stolen pistols.

Greedo was reportedly facing up to 300 years in prison but recently copped a plea deal for lesser time. On Monday (April 30), Greedo explained his situation on Instagram. "No, I'm not in jail," he wrote. "I'm not lying about being in jail, the media lying. I don't have life. I do have a lot of time. I ain't going 'til the summer time. If you fuck with me, fuck with me...Let's turn up 'til I'm gone. I'm not in fucking jail."

A court official told XXL that Greedo was scheduled to appear for a plea hearing in Amarillo, Texas on April 25, and that he is due to appear again in court on June 25. XXL has reached out to Greedo's team at Alamo Records and his lawyer for a comment on his sentencing.

The Watts, Calif. rapper wrote on Instagram that he plans to get his paper right before he has to sit down for a minute. "You think Ima just take that deal and say 'take me now?' No bitch give me some extra time," he posted. "Let me go on tour. Let me get this money right for my kid."

XXL spoke with Greedo back in January where he talked about music being his ride out of the street life. "I really was in the streets," he said. "I started as a battle rapper and I still will slap the shit out of people—but the industry is helping me become a better man."
