Watch XXL on ‘Sway in the Morning’ Talk About Freshman 2015

XXL stopped by Sirius XM to be on Sway in the Morning to discuss the 2015 XXL Freshman cover. This year's cover stars are DeJ Loaf, Fetty Wap, GoldLink, K Camp, OG Maco, Raury, Shy Glizzy, Tink, Vince Staples and the winner of the fan-voted 10th Spot, Kidd Kidd. Editor-In-Chief Vanessa Satten with editor Manny broke down the 2015 XXL Freshman cover, who almost made the list and the year long deciding process behind Freshman. When asked who were the other candidates that were in the running for the 10th spot, XXL revealed some of the names.

"I don't really remember who else got that 10th spot because result-wise they give us the numbers of who the winner is and that's kinda what we pay attention to," said Vanessa. "Lil Herb was up there. Skizzy Mars was up there. Denzel Curry, but I don't remember where they were in the top 10 of the 10th spot voting."

In the interview, the group breaks down the reasoning behind selection Shy Glizzy, Raury, Fetty Wap, Tink, Dej Loaf and more. The XXL team also joined Sway and crew in discussing recent news in entertainment like Tom Hank's son Chet using the n-word, Chris Brown fighting with his ex-girlfriend Karrueche and Zoë Saldana's husband taking her last name. Watch Sway, Heather B, Tracy G and the XXL team in the video above.
