Chuck Inglish and Sir Michael Rocks, collectively known as The Cool Kids, announced their reunion back in July, the duo ending a hiatus that spanned back to 2012. “I called Mikey and realized nothing would feel better than us being the originators again,” Inglish wrote on Twitter. “The Cool Kids are back for real.”
That comeback, it seems now, will include more than music, as Fake Shore Drive reports an upcoming comedy show from the duo titled The Shit Show. The trailer can be seen above, the first half a slideshow of standard throwback computer screen images and trippy visuals. The last few seconds reveal the closest thing to what fans can expect from the show, a fictional reporter named Lance Bingemton "Reporting Goddam Live" from the field.
Sir Michael Rocks offered a little context on Twitter Tuesday (Jan. 17), writing, "WHILE ME & CHUCK BEEN WORKING ON THE NEW ALBUM WE BEEN WORKING ON A COMEDY SHOW CALLED THE SHIT SHOW."
Comedy and rap have gone hand-in-hand for decades, rappers using comedians on album skits, or appearing in sketches themselves. Recently, Eric Andre has had a slew of rappers on his Adult Swim show, often making them uncomfortable at every turn. Tyler, The Creator meanwhile had his own sketch show in Loiter Squad, also on Adult Swim.
