Prosecutors Want Tay-K to Stand Trial as an Adult in Separate Capital Murder Case: Report

Tay-K has been indicted for a separate capital murder charge in Texas' Bexar County.

According to KSat.com, the Bexar County District Attorney's Office issued a press release on Friday (Nov. 15) to formally announce the indictment against the embattled rapper.

Tay-K, born Taymore McIntyre, was charged with the April 2017 murder of 23-year-old Mark Saldivar after his arrest by authorities in July 2017. Police believe the rapper shot and killed Saldivar at Texas Chick-Fil-A restaurant while on the run from the law.

Tay-K is also named in a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the victim’s mother, Lucia "Lucy" Saldivar, who says her son was shot by the rapper and was left to die.

Just two weeks removed from being sentenced to 55 years in prison for murder, Tay-K has now learned that prosecutors want him to be tried as an adult in a separate capital murder case in Texas' Bexar County.

According to a report the Fort Worth Star-Telegram published Thursday afternoon (Aug. 7), prosecutors are planning to have the rapper certified to stand trial as an adult for the case. Tay-K, born Taymore McIntyre, was charged with the April 2017 murder of 23-year-old Mark Saldivar after being apprehended by authorities in 2017. Police believe the rapper shot and killed Saldivar at Texas Chick-Fil-A. During that time, the rapper was already on the run from the law.

At the time Saldivar was killed, the now-19-year-old Tay-K was just 16. Tay-K was tried as an adult for his recently concluded murder case, which revolved around the robbery and murder of 21-year-old Ethan Walker. In addition to his 55-year murder sentence, the teen, who was not found guilty of capital murder but guilty of murder, was hit with 30 years in prison for one count of aggravated robbery and an additional two 13-year sentences for two other counts of the crime. The two 13-year sentences come with $3,000 fines. His sentences will run concurrently. Tay-K has appealed the verdict.

Tay-K earned viral infamy after dropping his song "The Race" after cutting off his ankle monitor and fleeing from authorities in March 2017. On the song, he documents his run from the law.
