Ron Stewart Rates Artists from XXLMag.com’s The Break

Three times a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday), a new artist is featured on XXLMag.com’s The Break. An ideal destination for fans, artists, and industry members, The Break showcases up and coming talent, giving a brief introduction on the artist or group, and highlighting some of their standout music. I've been following Lore'l for a while now so I'm real familiar with her grind and potential to be the next femcee to rep for NYC.

Formerly with Red Cafe / Shakedown now she's on a mission to make sure we know aint a damn thing changed. Very easy on the eye and humble at the same damn time.  It's artists like this that you want to see win just because. Not that she needs any handouts, you could put her on a track and she will hold her own with the best of them. Her raspy flow makes you feel like she's talkin to you or about you on every record.

If your not paying attention you will catch yourself listening again because you missed a one liner she put out there that you couldn't believe she said.

What's better then hearing a female brag and boast about how she keeps these men in check?!!? "Can't Nobody Hold Me" does just that, which to me is the best out of the 3. I think because the production is simpler and forces you to pay attention to what she's saying.  "Make It Pop" was one of my favorites. Her flow over that production is a natural marriage. The video looks like money and she comes across well on camera. "Everythings A Go" freestyle is to easy for her.  I know she can handle this with no problem.  Visually it gets the job done but again. This is to easy for her.

In an industry built around who your co-sign is, whoever decides to put their arm around Lore'l will notice that she is a diamond in the ruff and won't be afraid to mold her into the star she can become. The challenge for Lore'l is figuring out what lane to conquer. She has the look  to do both, we just need the music to prove it.
