Marc Jacobs Steps Down As Louis Vuitton Creative Director After Sixteen Years
Louis Vuitton creative director of 16years and world renown designer Marc Jacobs along with long term partner Robert Duffy have stepped down today from the Louis Vuitton brand. The decision comes after a powerful business meeting between Jacobs, Duffy and LVMH (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton) chairman and chief executive officer Bernard Arnault, sat down to discuss the future and growth of the Marc Jacobs brand. Jacobs will be leaving the LV brand but will remain partners with their parent company LVMH which is set to make a major investment into the Marc Jacobs Brand as they plan to take the company public within the next 2-3years.
Over Jacobs 16year tenure with Louis Vuitton he's been able to execute a series of phenomenal collaborations lifting the brands image and staple with the fashion industry. Some his most notable collections to date are: Stephen Sprouse, Takashi Murakami and Richard Prince. The exceptional creativity behind both Sprouse and Murakami bag designs have made them a global phenomena.
