A couple weeks back, XXL reported that model-turned-rapper LoLa Monroe was no longer affiliated with Taylor Gang Records after we spoke with an executive at the record label.

In an interview with HipHopWired, LoLa reiterated what XXL had previously reported regarding her status with Taylor Gang. According to Monroe, she was never signed with the label in the first place.

"You can’t get dropped unless you’re signed." LoLa told HipHopWired on the red carpet of the 2013 BET Hip-Hop Awards. "Plain and simple. This is business. You keep it moving through certain circumstances but at the end of the day it’s all love as far as a personal level."

Despite the misconceptions, Monroe spoke on the experience of touring with Taylor Gang leader Wiz Khalifa after the release of her mixtape, Lipstick & Pistols, back in February.

"Musically, it's just been progression." Lola said. "I spent my whole year recording it, slogged myself in the studio, then I went on a two-month tour with Wiz so now I'm getting to release my project, Lipstick & Pistols, that was hosted by DJIll Will, so I'm in like an amazing, progressive space in my life."
