Before the 2019 XXL Freshman class will be revealed this summer, the Freshman hopefuls are here to show and prove why they deserve a spot in this year’s class. The 10th Spot voting will launch on March 25, which means hip-hop's rising newcomers are vying for a spot on the 2019 XXL Freshman cover.

Lil Wop, 23, has put in a lot of work in a short amount of time. The Chicago native hopped in the game in 2016, with the project Wopster and quickly caught the attention of the masses. Striking while the iron was hot, he followed up with the projects Wake N Bake, Wopavelli and Wopavelli 2 in the first half of 2017. The latter featured the breakout banger “Lost My Mind.”

Gucci Mane was impressed enough with the young rhymer's mix of trap and horrorcore-themed raps to sign Wop to his 1017 Eskimo Records imprint in August 2017. Wop stayed in grind mode releasing Wopavelli 3 and the Angels and Demons joint project with Trippie Redd to close out the year and the Silent Hill EP and Wopavelli 4 in 2018. This year, he's dropped a new single called "Slime," which finds him rhyming about women and drugs, all in his signature growl over a haunting beat.

Now that you've heard his pitch, remember to vote for your favorite artist beginning March 25. The 2019 XXL Freshman 10th Spot will run for one week. This is where the public gets the chance to vote an artist into the XXL Freshman Class. Go here to make your vote count for your favorite artist.
