Lil’ Wayne vs. Jay-Z

Well, you can add Lil' Wayne's name to the chorus of jealous haters who are unimpressed with the new Jay-Z album. Here's what Lil' Weezyana (no Weezy F Baby) had to say about Jay's comeback in the newest issue of men's fashion magazine (I know) Complex:
"I don’t like what he’s saying about how he had to come back because hip-hop’s dead and we need him," Wayne said. "What the f— do you mean? If anything it’s reborn, so he’s probably having a problem with that. You left on a good note, and all of the artists were saying, ‘Yo, this is Jay’s house. He’s the best.’ Now he comes back and still thinks it’s his house. … It’s not your house anymore, and I’m better than you."
Oh snap!
So now Jay-Z's gotta make a song going at Lil' Wayne, right? I'd say so, though proverbial old nigga in the club Kay Slay would beg to differ.
In the following humorous audio clip from the Drama King's satellite radio program, he suggests Lil' Wayne doesn't have the authority to attack Jay-Z because Lil' Wayne is not Jay's level, the same way Lil' Wayne never went back at Gillie da Kid.

Which is a decent-enough point I suppose. Gillie da Kid said some pretty nasty shit about Lil' Wayne, Baby, and their girlfriend Trina in one track that's posted on this site somewhere. I don't recall Lil' Wayne ever responding to that, though Trina did.
Easy Solution: Lil' Wayne should just make two songs - one going at Gillie da Kid and one going at Jay-Z. Problem solved. Put 'em both on a mixtape with a cover featuring that photo of him and Baby making out. I'm sure it'd sell like hotcakes. Nullus.
Then Jay-Z would be left with no other choice but to make a song going at Lil' Wayne - though it can be argued that he doesn't have much of a choice now anyway. After all, he did make a songs going at the likes of Jim Jones and Damon Dash.
Furthermore, I don't know that the argument that Lil' Wayne is not on Jay's level holds much weight at this point anyway. Lil' Wayne may not be at the level of Jay-Z when he put out, say, Reasonable Doubt, but then neither is Jay-Z.
Shit Jay-Z's not even on the level he was at when he made "Change Clothes."
Meanwhile, Lil' Wayne's career is on a fairly improbable upswing. I'm no huge fan, but even I'll admit he's a lot better than he once was. Given a choice between hearing a new Wayne album and a new Jay album, I might actually have to roll with the Lil' Wayne[1].
Even the Like Father Like Son (no Boutros) album he put out with Baby sold 300-something thousand copies its first week out with very little promotion. In some ways, I'd say that's more impressive than a Jay-Z comeback album selling 600-something thousand.
Bottom Line: I think even you Jay stans have gotta admit he'll look pretty week if he doesn't mount some sort of response here.
