Prayers up for Del The Funky Homosapien, a guest artist and frequent collaborator performing with the Gorillaz, as the rapper remains hospitalized after falling off stage during a recent performance in Denmark for the Roskilde Festival.

In fan footage of the harrowing ordeal, captured on July 7, the rapper is seen making his way to the front of the stage to perform his verse on the smash hit
"Clint Eastwood" when suddenly he plummets into the crowd.

Gorrilaz are currently on tour for their new album The Now Now, but it looks like they could face a few delays in light of Del's injuries. The rapper reportedly suffered several fractured ribs as well as a punctured lung, according to Billboard.

Speaking in a new interview with Beats 1's Matt Wilkinson, co-creator of the Gorillaz Damon Albarn revealed the true extent of his collaborator's injuries, and it sounds pretty grueling. “Del is in hospital still in Roskilde,” Albarn said. “He’s got seven fractured ribs, and he punctured his lung on one side, lacerated it on the other."

“He’s gonna be fine,” Albarn continued. “It was just a stage fall, and I’ve fallen off stage several times, off stages way higher than that and I’ve been so fortunate. When he fell down, I was looking at him like, come on get up there’s 80,000 people out there and we need to finish. I though I was going to able to carry the song on. I though he was going to be okay.... But he really wasn’t.” He concludes, “It’s an awful, awful thing that I can’t quite believe. I keep playing it through my head.”

Just a few hours after being taken into the hospital, Del shared an update with fans via Twitter. "Thank you all for the love!," he wrote. "I’m doing alright but will be in the hospital for a bit, the care here is outstanding though."
