D.R.A.M.’s “Broccoli” Breaks Into Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100
The incredible momentum of D.R.A.M.'s single "Broccoli" will not slow down. The Virginia artist's smash hit continues its meteoric rise by debuting in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. The Lil Yachty-assisted record secures a spot with the No. 8 position on the latest chart.
Streaming has been the driving force in the single's ascent up the chart. "Broccoli" currently holds onto the No. 4 spot on the Streaming Songs chart. The track also maintains its No. 1 spot on the Top Rap Songs chart after knocking off Drake's "Too Good" earlier this month. The record has been the Top Rap Song for three straight weeks now.
The success of "Broccoli" has come as a surprise to D.R.A.M. While the "Cha Cha" creator thought it would be popular, he did not realize it would take off quite like it did.
"I had no idea that it was going to be a Billboard top 40 record," D.R.A.M. told Billboard last month. "I thought it was gonna be just lit for the culture, lit for SoundCloud, for the Internet. But it just really grew, to our surprise. So nobody's mad over here."
In addition to the song's success on the charts, "Broccoli" has also been certified double platinum by the RIAA. D.R.A.M. announced the news today (Sept. 26) on Instagram.
"2 million stalks of BROCCOLI sold, and counting!🌳 Double Platinum!🌳 Thank you Lord," D.R.A.M. wrote.
D.R.A.M. might have another hit making its way to the charts, too. His recently released "Cash Machine" single reached one million plays in less than a week on Spotify. Streaming has clearly been an asset to the VA artist's career.
