jay_close.jpgThe Chinese government has reportedly cancelled a Jay-Z concert scheduled for October 23 at Shanghai’s Hongkou Stadium. According to the Associated Press, one of the show’s promoters claims that the country’s Culture Ministry nixed the show because of Jay’s lyrical content. “Some of Jay-Z’s songs contain too much vulgar language,” Sun Yun of KS Promotions was quoted as saying in China’s state run paper Shanghai Daily. Although the AP was unable to independently confirm the report, a website peddling tickets for the show listed it as being postponed. The concert would have marked Jay-Z’s first ever performance in the Asian country.
