Chicago native Jake Merten wanted to celebrate Chance The Rapper's Grammy victories in a special way. The artist, who is now based in Los Angeles, created a mural of Chance in a honor of the MC's big night at the 2017 Grammy Awards.

"Born and raised in Chicago, I have a lot of hometown pride," Merten said. "Seeing Chance and his team grow over the last few years has been an inspiration as an artist and Chicagoan. They have acted as a catalyst for a lot of change so far in the music industry, but also in our hometown. I can only see it keep coming. I wanted to commemorate their historic win, particularly in the city where the Grammys were held so that Los Angeles, but really the hub-of-entertainment Hollywood, is force-fed Chance a little more."

The mural, which took 10 to 12 hours to make, is located on Melrose Avenue. Fans can find more of Merten's work on his Instagram or official website.

Merten does not know if Chance has seen the mural yet, but confirmed that Chance's manager Pat Corcoran has. The Chicago MC may not have had the opportunity to see it during this busy week, which saw him announce a new tour. Check out all of the dates for the "No Problem" rapper's upcoming tour below.
