Chance The Rapper Marries Fiancee
Chance The Rapper is a married man.
The Chicago MC wedded his longtime girlfriend Kirsten Corley on Saturday (March 9) in a ceremony that was attended by family and friends in Newport Beach, Calif., reports US Weekly. The wedding took place at The Resort at Pelican Hill. According to one source, “It was a beautiful ceremony."
According to E! News, about 150 people were in attendance including Chance's brother Taylor Bennett, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian and Dave Chappelle.
"After the ceremony, Kim and Kanye hung out with Dave Chappelle on the lawn," one source told the site. "They were all laughing together and having a great time. They posed for photos and Chance came over to chat. They congratulated him and gave him hugs. Kim and Kanye were offered some champagne. Kim passed but Kanye took a glass. Then they walked inside together for the reception. It looked like they were very happy to be there and to see their friend get married. They both never stopped smiling."
The couple actually lawfully wedded two months ago. The Chicago Tribune reported on Friday (March 8) that the Grammy Award-winning artist, whose real name isChancelor Bennett, had been married to his fiancée Kirsten Corley for the past two months. The newspaper was able to obtain a copy of the marriage certificate, which confirmed that the couple tied the knot in a civil ceremony by judge Scott McKenna on Dec. 27, 2018 in Chicago.
On Wednesday (March 6), reports surfaced that Chano and his now-bride would get married in Chicago this weekend. On that same day, Chance jumped on Twitter and wrote a series of tweets of how he met Corley when they were just nine years old. “My mom used to work as a real estate agent at a black-owned franchise called Re/Max Exclusive Properties,” he wrote. “One night, she took my dad and brother and I to one of her office parties to get better acquainted with her co-workers.”
It was at the party that Chance met Corley who was part of a group singing Destiny's Child cover songs. “This office of adults, Taylor (Bennett, the artist’s younger brother) and myself formed a semicircle and from the back stepped out 3 young girls. Who were not Destiny’s Child,” he recalled in his tweets. “‘QUESTION. TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT ME.’ Now I’m locking eyes with the prettiest girl I ever seen in my almost-a-decade of life on Earth.”
Since then, their friendship grew up until high school. They have been dating since 2013 and are the parents of a 3-year-old daughter named Kensli. In July 2018, the couple got engaged at a family barbecue. Chano and Corley celebrated the engagement later that year with a party attended by family and friends.
On Monday morning (March 11), Chance uploaded images of himself and his new wife onto his Twitter account. You can see those images below.
