Belly Spits Impressive Freestyle on Power 106
Belly paid a visit to Power 106 earlier this week (March 14) and spit an impressive new freestyle for LA Leakers. The XO signee ripped his nearly three-minute freestyle, covering topics like his family life, police brutality, xenophobia against Muslims and the overall wack competition in the rap game right now. Long story short, Belly killed it.
"I don't need to get my palm read/To know I'm about to smack rappers until my palm read/Baguettes in my rolex homie, that's long bread/I think they got me on the wrong meds/That's when we all said/We were dying just to make a living/'Til we came back and made a killing/But that's all conencted/Hero, villain, it's all perspective/Trigger happy police killers, they so selective," rhymes Belly.
Belly has been making all the right moves this year. After dropping InZombia last November, the talented writer has worked with Future, Jadakiss, Ty Dolla $ign and Nav. Belly tracked his success so far during an interview with XXL last fall.
“I reached all the accomplishments that I planned out to reach in Canada,” Belly explained. “That was that for me. I wanted a new phase in my life I needed something new. I stepped back, started doing song writing and various business ventures down the line. Song writing is cool. You kind of see what everybody wants and what everybody is fucking with. It got to a point I just started keeping all my shit and putting it out and here we are.”
Looking ahead, Belly is about to have a busy summer. The Ottawa rapper is set to head out on tour with fellow Canadian act, R&B superstar The Weeknd along with supporting acts 6LACK and Rae Sremmurd next month into June.
