Before the 2019 XXL Freshman Class will be revealed this summer, the Freshman hopefuls are here to show and prove why they deserve a spot in this year’s class. The 10th Spot voting will launch on March 25, which means hip-hop's rising newcomers are vying for a spot on the 2019 XXL Freshman cover.

Bandhunta Izzy has West Baltimore on his back. Basing his gritty raps with the dangerous city that he calls home, the 22-year-old rapper has been standing out from the crowd. First gaining attention under the moniker Lor Izzy, he put out prominent tracks like “BBB” and several notable freestyles that wound up on his 2016 debut mixtape Couldn’t Picture This.

Izzy continued to feed the streets with tracks like "In Love Wit Da Trap" before releasing his sophomore project Code Blue in January 2017, which features assists from the likes of Jugg, Peewee Longway and Key Glock. That May, Izzy took his talents to Republic Records. He spent 2018 dropping off heat like “I Got It” and “Poppin Shit,” and touring with Ski Mask The Slump God.
