King Louie is heading to your television screen. Fake Shore Drive reports that the Chicago rapper will appear in the new BET scripted series The Yard. The show centers on a newly elected president (played by Tony-winning actress Anika Noni Rose) of the fictional Georgia A&M as she deals with the college's freshman class.

The Drilluminati rapper was on the campus of Morehouse College to film his scenes for the upcoming series. It is not known what role King Louie will be playing, but he is expected to be featured in the two hour pilot for The Yard scheduled to premiere later this year.

Fake Shore Drive also reports that King Louie's fellow Chicago native Montana of 300 was seen on the set with the rapper. It is possible that the "Land of the Dark" MC might appear in the episode as well.

King Louie's venture into the world of acting is a nice moment for the rapper after a scary experience where he took bullet to the head last December. Louie was shot multiple times in his hometown of Chicago just a few days before Christmas.

"I just felt the shots hit me, it didn’t hurt or nothing, I just felt them," Louie told Revolt. "After one hit me in my ear, I was like, 'Damn, I’m hit in my head.' I was finna give up for a while. But everyone, my family and friends, flashed, and I thought about how many people I would hurt if I were to give up and don’t fight."

King Louie credited his OVO tattoo with being a guardian angel of sorts. Louie said he sent a message to Drake on Instagram that the owl saved his life.
