A DVD entitled Pros & Cons dropped today, June 11, in remembrance of the five-year death anniversary of rapper Stack Bundles. Pros & Cons contains raw footage of Riot Squad members Stack Bundles and Cau2g$. The duo debuts never before seen or heard freestyles and songs dating back from March 3, 2001. Pros & Cons provides a rare glimpse of the beginning of a rising rap star’s career that was unfortunately cut shorter than it should’ve been.

Rayquon Elliot, more famously known as Stack Bundles, was shot dead on June 11th, 2007, while returning to his Beach Channel Drive home in Far Rockaway, Queens. He was only 24. The MC had made his mark by dominating the mixtape scene in the early 2000’s, which led to fellow NYC native, Jim Jones, winning the Biddin’ War; by recruiting the rap rookie to his Byrd Gang roster in 2006.

Stack Bundles, the self-proclaimed Gorgeous Gangster, was surely on his way to stardom, and the charismatic rhyme slinger’s talents were co-signed by some of the biggest names in the rap game. After the heartbreaking news broke out that the lyricist had been murdered, the hip-hop community mourned by making music dedicated to their lost brother, real name, Rayquon Elliot.

JR Writer, Lil Wayne, Joe Budden, & Jae Millz all released separate tracks remembering the Riot Squad head-honcho, which speaks volumes about Stack’s character as a person, in addition to his ability to captivate his audience with the authenticity and plenty of charisma in his verses.

Today, the hip-hop community celebrates and remembers the life of Rayquon Elliot, and the memorable music he blessed us with during his short time here. Rest in peace Stack Bundles, and rest assure we will always Remember Your Name .—XXL Staff
