Back in June of 2015, the NBA announced its partnership with sportswear brand Nike for the beginning of the 2017-18 NBA season. In anticipation for the start of this year’s season, today the NBA and the Swoosh have unveiled the primary uniforms that'll be used during the upcoming season.

The brand new NBA uniforms are comprised of a combination of alpha yarns and recycled polyester. Introducing a new naming system for uniforms this season, the Swoosh moves away from calling the jersey kits the typical “Home” and “Road” versions, and presents the “The Association” and “The Icon” editions of the team uniforms designed with each NBA franchise heritage.

The "Association" edition will be Nike's traditional home white uniform which all 30 teams will have as part of their rotation. The "Icon" edition, formerly known as the road uniform, will represent the rich heritage and iconic identity of each franchise. This "Icon" edition will feature the team’s primary colorways and is designed with Nike's latest technology. To round out the uniforms, the jerseys will feature Nike's iconic Swoosh logo at the right hand corner of each jersey while the shorts will feature the Swoosh branding on the right side of the shorts' waist line.

Along with the release of the “Association” and “Icon” edition team kits, the Swoosh and the NBA plan to release a set of Classic edition jerseys for eight teams in the NBA, to help celebrate the most iconic team uniforms in league history.

While a release date for the uniforms has yet to be announced, make sure to keep it locked with XXL for more details on this release and future Nike drops.
