JL Teams Up With Nef The Pharaoh in “Out Da Hood” Video
JL is continuing to make big strides in the rap game, and this time, he's bringing together two underrated cities with a dope hip-hop scene. The Strange Music signee releases the anticipated visuals to his "Out Da Hood" record with Nef The Pharaoh, which brings both Kansas City and The Bay together for the colorful video.
The visuals start off with JL posted up in his neighborhood in Kansas City, where he is surrounded by a mass entourage, as well as some bikers who do some tricks on their motor vehicles. Soon, the MC is joined by Nef The Pharaoh, who brings all of the style and sound of The Bay Area for his electric verse on the Disko Boogie-produced track. The upbeat song is slated to be on JL's upcoming DIBKIS album, which is an acronym for “Do It Big Keep It Strange.”
JL has had a stellar year, and it's about to be even better one he releases his anticipated album on June 30. Earlier this month, he spoke with XXL about the new release.
“The album is like the definition of DIBKIS,” JL explains. “I’m finding the balance in all of this from the mainstream to the underground. When I talked to Tech about it, he felt the same way. He said, ‘You can’t call it anything other than this.'”
