Pablo Dylan is pursuing music like his grandfather, folk legend Bob Dylan, but he’s opting for a slightly different direction.

The 15-year-old Dylan told allhiphop.com that he is working on a rap career.

“We just put out the mixtape 10 Minutes; we got like 50,000 views on that, and I just got back in the studio to work on things and perfect everything,” Pablo said.

The aspiring rapper, who became a hip-hop fan after listening to Eminem’s The Eminem Show, is apparently teaming up with Young Money’s Lil Chuckee and said a single featuring Chuckee and Darnell Robinson is “dropping soon.”

The young Dylan said he hopes to make a name for himself independent of his famous grandfather.

“Of course we do two different things, and I don’t want people to see me for what he has done,” he said. “But, what I have done, I mean from a musical and personal standpoint, is definitely influenced by him.”

Pablo even compared the elder Dylan, arguably the most influential folk musician in history, to a current hip-hop icon and self-proclaimed greatest rapper alive.

“My grandfather, I consider him the Jay-Z of his time, and he definitely has a legacy that a lot of people look up to," he said. "He feels strongly about my music and I love him to death.” —Lauren Carter
