XXL Freshmen 2015: Kidd Kidd Pitch [Video]

XXL Freshmen 2015 is coming and the freshman hopefuls are gearing up to possibly make this year’s class. With the10th Spot voting happening now, we have to let the potentials tell us why they should appear on this year’s cover.

Although most may only recognize Kidd Kidd as the newest member of G-Unit, the rapper is much deeper than many may realize. The New Orleans rhyme slinger has a similar past to 50 Cent, surviving being shot six times outside his mother's NOLA home. Prior to that, Kidd Kidd was one of the first artists signed to Young Money Entertainment. He is a former member of the group, Squad Up along with rapper Gudda Gudda. The group left the label in the mid 2000s and eventually disbanded. He then met 50 Cent and signed a deal with G-Unit Records in 2011, a few weeks prior to getting shot. The mogul felt a connection with Kidd Kidd due to the familiar circumstances and later made him the fifth member of now independent entity. He's appeared on the projects of countless rappers, featured on Lil Wayne's "Mrs. Officer" off Tha Carter III and several of 50 Cent's solo efforts, including the most recent LP, Animal Ambition. Kidd is currently prepping a solo mixtape for release in mid 2015. Watch above as he tells us why he should appear on the coveted XXL Freshmen list.

The XXL Freshmen 10th Spot will run from March 16 to March 22. This is where the public gets the chance to vote an artist into XXL Freshmen Class.
