Despite reports that Drake was on pace to sell over 600,000 copies of his new album, Nothing Was The Same, hip-hop was dominated by another fashionable rapper, Kanye West, this week. Kanye's interview with Zane Lowe of the BBC was the talk of the hip-hop world this week as the instantly quotable interview spawned endless lists, memes and parodies of the four-part installment. By Thursday evening, Kanye found himself in a squabble with Jimmy Kimmel on Twitter and battled the paparazzi outside of his house in the wee hours of the morning.

In other news, a major hip-hop festival unexpectedly cancelled the last two legs of their tour, Miami rapper Trina collapsed in Florida airport, Diddy conquered Forbes' magazine and OutKast celebrated the tenth anniversary of the highest-selling album in hip-hop history.

4. Rock The Bells Cancels Washington, D.C. And New York Shows Due To Poor Ticket Sales

Word broke out this week that the last two legs of Rock The Bells, hip-hop's premier festival, were being cancelled due to poor tickets sales. An XXL source revealed that Rock The Bells is allegedly set for a three million dollar financial loss due to the two shows cancellation.

5. Kanye West Goes On A Twitter Rant Against Jimmy Kimmel

Kanye West took to Twitter to deliver an angry rant directed at late-night comedian Jimmy Kimmel, in regards to a spoof aired on Kimmel's talk show that poked fun of Kanye's interview with Zane Lowe earlier in the week.

6. Kanye West Lashes Out At The Paparazzi At 4 A.M.

Hours after Kanye's Twitter meltdown, Kanye was confronted by a gang of paparazzi as they ambushed him with questions about his appearance on Kimmel around 4 A.M. PT.  West reacted hostilely to the photographers screaming at them to leave his property before taking off in his one of his cars.

Drake released his much-anticipated third album, Nothing Was The Same, this week. Initial sales reports indicate that Drake is on pace to sell 675,000 copies in the first-week of the album's release.

8. Trina Hospitalized After Collapsing In Florida Airport

According to a report posed by TMZ, Miami rapper Trina collapsed in a Florida airport after losing consciousness. Reports indicated that the event was caused by "dehydration and overexertion.” Trina took to social media later to announce that she was recovering quickly and would be fine.

9. 10 Years Of OutKast And ‘Speakerboxxx/The Love Below’

Celebrated Atlanta rap group, OutKast, celebrated the tenth anniversary of the their gigantic-smash album, Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. XXL honored the legendary duo by posting a comprehensive timeline of the group's activities since the release of the album in 2003.
