Rappers Who Had Seizures

August Alsina suffered seizures midway through his performance of “Numb”  at Irving Plaza while on his Testimony Live Tour. Alsina’s management updated XXL on the 2014 Freshmen class member's current condition “In short, he’s still recovering in the ICU and being treated for seizures which he started experiencing after the collapse.”

Over the past couple of years, seizures have become more frequently. Here are other rappers who suffered from them.

Rich Homie Quan - May 2014

Rich Homie Quan was rushed to the hospital after suffering from two seizures and cracking his head open during a video shoot.

Lil Wayne - March 2013; Oct. 2012

Lil Wayne has suffered from multiple seizures. Two seizures within 24 hours in 0ct 2012 and another serious seizure in L.A. after a music video shoot which TMZ reported on saying that the rapper was on his death bed.

Chris Brown - Aug. 2013

Chris Brown was rushed to the hospital early Friday morning because he suffered from a seizure.

Report says The L.A. City Fire Department received a phone call from Record Plant recording studios in Hollywood at around 1 a.m. last night. When the ambulance arrived to assist him, Brown allegedly refused to get treatment. He also didn’t want to be transported to the hospital.

Rick Ross – October  2011

Before Lil Wayne suffered his first seizure, Rick Ross had two seizures while traveling to Tennessee for a performance. He explained that the incident was caused by sleep deprivation, having not slept more than eights hours in a single night since 2006.

Jae Millz – Circa 2010

Lil Wayne isn’t the only YMCMB rapper to suffer a seizure; in an interview with DJ Vlad dated to April 9, 2010, Jae Millz explained that he suffered a near-fatal seizure in his sleep. This seizure – the second he endured in 2010 – played inspiration for his upcoming debut with Cash Money “Nothing is Promised.”

Tone Loc – May 29, 2009; December 13, 2010; June 15, 2012; August 13, 2012; March 16, 2013

The “Wild Thing” rapper has made numerous headlines over the past three years for his multiple bouts with exhaustion and seizures. Most recently, Loc collapsed on an Iowa stage from and apparent seizure, making it his fifth major health incident involving a seizure.
